How to get as much free stuff as possible from Microsoft this November

No one likes paying for stuff. Sure, it’s the right thing to do an all but when you can get merchandise for free–now that’s what we call right. Think to what you’ve gotten free so far this month. A piece of gum, a high-five maybe? (Well one thing’s for sure, you got this article for free so you’re welcome)! None of that can compare (except for maybe this article) to what you can squeeze out of Microsoft this November. With some smart shopping and just a little bit of luck, or a lot of luck actually, you can walk away with a free phone, a free Xbox, and several months of Zune Pass. Read on to find out how.

Actual giveaways. The free lunch.

Microsoft’s definitely dishing out many giveaways this month so let’s start there. The true free lunch. The first of these giveaways is the Zune on Windows Phone 7 Rocks My World! sweepstakes, in which Microsoft is giving away six Windows Phone devices plus six 12-month Zune Passes a week until December 1st. That’s 30 phones and 30 passes and each day you enter (plus tweet out the giveaway), you’ve got more chances to win! To enter just visit Microsoft’s ePromo Website. Plus, everyday they’re also giving out free one-month Zune Passes. It’s a win/kind-of-win situation.

But wait. There’s more! Microsoft’s Office Twitter account is having a giveaway of its own, titled the Microsoft Office I Want to Win a Windows Phone 7 sweepstakes. Yes, not much creativity comes with these names but who cares when the price you pay is $0? This giveaway is not as awesome, it seems like it’s just one device they’re giving away but at least all you have to do is tweet out the message they give you. And yes, the more you tweet the more chances you have. Although it does seem that apart from the Windows Phone, you could also win a Zune HD or a $100 Visa Gift Card! Once again, available at the ePromo Website.

Purchase necessary. Lunch with a free side.

We can’t always get everything for free. But it doesn’t hurt that you can get lunch with a free order of fries on the side, now does it? Everyone loves fries. And Microsoft loves giving them out for free. Take Microsoft’s own preorder sweepstakes. If you go to the Microsoft Store website and preorder a Windows Phone device, Microsoft is giving away three months of free Zune Pass. Now, preordering is still not available (even though launch day is less than a week away) but you can sign up to be notified when it is, all that is at the Microsoft Store.

They’re not the only ones giving away free Zune Pass, though. AT&T has signed up on the giveaway bandwagon. When you purchase a Windows Phone device from them, you get a free month of Zune Pass, a free month of UVerse service on your device, and a free download of AT&T’s exclusive game (until 2011) ilomilo (my personal favorite game so far for Windows Phone 7). All that is available at AT&T’s Entertainment Pack website. If it gets too hard to remember, just go to att.com/wp7, there’s a link to it there. Now, I’m no mathematician but if you play your cards right I think that adds up to four months of free Zune Pass!

If you like fast food and you like fast games, you’ll like this next one. This sort of is like lunch with a free side. Burger King has teamed up with Microsoft to give away an Xbox/Kinect prize pack “every 15 minutes” from now until November 28th. That is an Xbox 360, Kinect, Kinect Adventures, and Kinect Sports! And all you have to do to enter is buy a Whopper and enter the code into their website! Now, that’s not half bad, I call that a Tuesday. An Xbox and Kinect? Now that’s what a I call a “whopping” deal. Ha, get it? Ah, whatever… to learn more just go to BK’s Kinect Website.

I call this next one unjust to those in the States, but it is what it is. Customers in Spain and Austria received a free Xbox 360 console whenever they purchased a Windows Phone with a two year contract from Austrian-based A1. Just check out the news! Though, I think the free giveaways have ended, it seems like they’re still holding sweepstakes.

Sweet deals. Lunch with a coupon.

Everyone knows that Microsoft is bundling Kinect, 4GB Xbox, and a game for $300, but did you know Amazon has its own bundle? Amazon is bundling the 250GB version Xbox 360, Kinect, and Kinect Adventures if you pony up another $100 at $399, which of course is about a $100 saving. But also you get two bonus levels of Rallyball, one bonus level of Reflex Ridge, and a helicopter prop for your Avatar. How can you say no? All available at Amazon.com.

All over the place, the price of Zune HDs are dropping like crazy! Like a refurbished Zune HD 16GB at Best Buy for just $120! The refurbished 32GB model is $180.

And there ya have it, kids! It’s always great to buy something new for yourself, but if you can get a little something extra–it makes it that much better. So keep entering in those sweepstakes, and shop around for great deals and giveaways. And if you know of any not mentioned here, share with us below! That is unless you want more chances for you to win!
