Just hours after Microsoft announced it had signed the release to manufacturer build of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, Fujitsu Toshiba has announced the world’s first Windows Phone Mango device: Windows Phone IS12T.
In a statement (surprisingly lacking the words “world’s,” “first,” “official,” and/or “Mango device”), the company clamored that the IS12T is Japan’s first water- and dust-proof Windows Phone device running the new version of the operating system. It comes with a 13.2 megapixel camera, 32GB of internal storage, with what Engadget is reporting a 3.7″ WVGA screen.
The device will be available “after September 2011″ exclusively in Japan by KDDI Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company; it’s not exactly clear if they mean in September as in after September 1st or if they mean in October. (If it’s the former, rumors of a September Mango release are confirmed, practically.)
Side note: the company also put a rest to the Windows Phone 7.1 vs 7.5 debate — they used 7.5.
