HTC, Samsung, and LG to launch Mango devices in September; Nokia in October

It’s full steam ahead for Microsoft and Windows Phone 7.5. Fujitsu announced the first Mango device just a couple of days ago and now the rumor mill is churning, saying HTC, Samsung, and LG (the original three) will be launching their respective Mango devices this September.

According to a report from DigiTimes, “branded handset vendors including” (but not limited to?) “HTC, Samsung Electronics, and LG Electronics all plan to launch Microsoft’s Mango-based smartphones in September.” The report doesn’t fail to mention that the iPhone 5 is rumored to launch in September as well and these devices would be competing with the Apple device — though, it should be noted that was probably not any handset maker or Microsoft’s intention.

Nokia, meanwhile, will announce its line of Mango devices at Nokia World 2011 to take place in October. DigiTimes notes that this could be a good strategy as Mango buzz will be ramped up at that time.

HTC plans to unveil “a number” of Mango phones, all powered by Qualcomm 1.5GHz CPUs with screen sizes that range from 3.8″ to 4.7″. Details on other devices haven’t really been made known; however, Zunited ran down a list of all the rumored and reported list of Mango devices.
