Fujitsu Coming Out With High End Windows Phone

It was revealed that Japanese handset manufacturer, Fujitsu, will be bringing new Windows Phone devices to Europe and North America later this year. According to thenextweb.com the new devices will be showcased at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this month.

The tech company has seen a massive push by other smartphone handset makers in Europe, and its approach to reaching more of this market is by creating high-end devices as opposed to budget friendly phones trying to hit rock bottom prices.

Fujitsu, at least in Japan, is known to bring feature sets not commonly found on other competitive Windows Phone devices. Features like NFC chips, waterproof displays and 12 MP cameras are some of those elusive qualities other OEMs seem to omit.

Does a Fujitsu branded Windows Phone device entice you? Does it bode well for Fujitsu to go the high-end route while Nokia and other OEM’s try to attain more marketshare through low-end devices?

To the question at the bottom of this article the answer is…YES! Why, well for one thing people love great devices even if it may cost more. A lot of people have a tendency to believe the more it cost the better the product must be. Having rock bottom prices are great and all but some times you need a pricey device to balance out the cheap ones to get more people wanting the device and having the option to either dish out a large amount or purchase an affordable version of the device. This is why Apple still rules the market. People believe at $600 they’re getting a high end phone where as Android is middle and Windows Phone as Cheap. You have to have consumers wanting the phone at the high end mark to entice them and have them realize they can have the same phone but at a cheaper price and less Mega Pixels which will drawn in more consumers. Who really needs 12MP…people who are willing to dish out the cost…but others can have the same exact phone for much cheaper. In turn you have new Windows Phone customers at both the hign end mark and the cheaper end.

Do you think Fujitsu is cutting their market share by just going with a high-end phone? Or do they need to hit the bottom end as well, since both devices, theoretically, should work the same way.
