Just recently, Microsoft released it’s newest version of their flight simulator, Microsoft Flight. This of course includes a new look, new plan selection, and dynamic landscaping and scenario. I’ve already installed and tested the software, and you can tell that Microsoft put a good deal of money into this. As you see in the picture above, you are greeted by a beautiful home menu and when you install it yourself, you’ll be welcomed with deep, motivational feeling music along with it. Top marks, so far.
I went on to testing the tutorial, and the first thing I noticed is that the graphics are mediocre, but overall good graphics for a free simulator, though. So I’m not complaining. The controls are easy to learn, and so far the missions that the program assigns you are what I would think are actual pilots would have to go through(Obviously!)
After peeking and testing Microsoft Flight, I personally think that if you’re a simulator kind of person, you’re going to have fun with this one. Happy Flying!
Last February, Microsoft and Nokia made a $2 Billion Deal with each other with the obvious purpose to create Windows OS based products together, believing that this would increase the profile of both companies in the smartphone sector. The two corporations have not been sitting idle and this year we can see their visionary direction take shape.
Let me preview two potentially fantastic products coming into play.
In December 2011, Nokia made a hefty decision to set ST-Ericsson as a supplier for one of their new line of phones that is to be released sometime in June of this year. This is honorable for ST-Ericsson, simply because this new line of phones will be one of the first to hold the Windows Phone 8 OS. On a more personal level, ST-Ericsson is excited to be given this opportunity because it shows an advancement in their mobile NovaThor hardware technology. What does it mean for this new future Windows Phone? A multicore processor with great power and low cost, for one. There’s also a chance for 3D capabilities, HD video playback, and all the specifications that makes up a great phone. A year ago, I was so stoked about Microsoft’s work on their tablet, the Courier. To my dismay, the company killed the project, saying that it “wasn’t enough Windows.” I was sorely disappointed, and probably so were many other Microsoft enthusiasts. But, months later, I continued to search with the hope that Microsoft did not completely abandon the tablet market.
At last, after searching and digging around, I found the news that Microsoft was creating a tablet with Nokia.
Nokia, having announced that the product will be released in June of this year, is not a newcomer to the mobile tablet market. With Nokia’s experience in this field, and Microsoft’s experience in the mobile OS market, this potential gold mine of opportunity will certainly break ground. With the news of hardware specs for future Windows 8 tablets confirmed, the supposed release date is set to be around June.
We have been promised many things this year, specifically by Microsoft; a new OS platform, an updated mobile OS platform, a new IE10 is currently being tested, and much more. I am personally excited by the plans made between Nokia and Microsoft, and trust that many good things will come in the future.
