Hi, Cris178,

I'm not sure that we'll see the ability to generate photosynths on our WinPhones until well into Windows Phone 8's lifecycle when phones finally get more RAM onboard, but the Photosynth team does have a mobile app that captures panoramas. So far it's only out on iOS, but they're working on a Windows Phone version. I've collected every quote from their team on the subject that I'm aware of here in this doc: http://bit.ly/synthywinphonedoc

You can read the ongoing outcry from Windows Phone users like yourself and I from Twitter here: http://bit.ly/synthywinphone

Which viewer are you having trouble with, kraamerXmich?

I'd be glad to help you if you'd like.

You can find a full list of the keyboard shortcuts for the web viewers at the end of the Photosynth Photography Guide. http://cdn.photosynth.net/documentation/Photosynth%20Guide%20v8.pdf

To be honest, I think the panorama viewer on iOS devices couldn't possibly be simpler to use. All there is to do is to turn around (with touch and drag) and zoom in and out (with pinch to zoom).

Actually, after playing around with it some more, it's pretty cool, however I do use other apps that do it better.

I have it on my iPhone and I think it's kinda pointless...and could they have made the viewer any harder to use? I think they need to do some work on it before I'd have any interest.

I don't think the Lumia 710 is cheap as in crappy. I think that Nokia can deliver very good hardware at good price points that consumers can afford.

Even so, if you want to talk cheap you can say that generation 1 phones still run smooth comparable to generation 2 devices. My Samsung Focus still runs just as good as the newest HTC Titan or Focus S.

This is the advantage I mention that both Nokia and Microsoft should leverage if they should enter the budget carriers. A year old phone like the Focus or HD7 can outperform any recent budget Android phone.

I can't stand the iPad. I agree with everything you've said in this article. What kills me is it's exactly the same as an iPod touch, except this doesn't fit into your pocket. Just goes to show that people will buy anything that has an Apple logo on it.

And why do you think WP7 is better at performing well on cheaper hardware? The cited 710 has a 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, no slouch.
