It seems as if the internet is bristling with Zune news this week!
Fry’s Electronics has sold a 120gb Zune just a bit earlier than the alleged release date on September 9th. Pictures of the 120 and it’s boxing are confirmed to be real while skeptics seem to discredit the images.
Images of the 120 include the headphones, sync cable, instruction booklet, a receipt from Fry’s and, of course the 120gb Zune itself. There is now no question that these devices exist now. The question is what are these new software updates? With 2.5 there wasn’t a lot to ask for after all the improvements it offered. And the hit show on Fox ‘House’ was release in the marketplace earlier this week. What does this tell us? I guess well have to wait until the 9th!
The rumor mill is at full steam and with good reason. With 'that other player' (you know which one) getting a big announcement next week, it appears Microsoft is gearing up for a show stopper of its own. A new Blue Zune 8 has now appeared priced at $149.95 on B&H. Further, the Zune 120 has also made its appearance - price and all (minus a juicy pic)! The new spacious Zune is priced to sell at $249.95. Both are only available for pre-order, but that almost seals the deal. This begs the question (and almost answers it) whether MS is going to cut prices on existing models.
With Apple rumored to be slashing prices of its media player, it's a safe bet MS will follow suit and probably on the same day (Sept. 9) as history has shown this to be the norm.
And is the Zune 80 and Zune 4 getting the ax? That's what it looks like 'cause Walmart is discontinuing the models (which could mean a number of things)... So, could we hear something on Sept. 9th? Definitely stay tuned here to find out!

It seems that a citizen in Canada has gotten a hold of a 16gb and 120gb set of Zunes. We can almost guarantee the credibility of this image seeing it was most likely taken from a 2mp Camera phone. As you look at the image of the 16gb Zune you notice it has a glossy surface that you see in the FCC document of testing for the 120gb. And this is as real as it gets.
In fact we have undeniable proof from an exclusive and disclosed source that the 120gb model is running 2.5 firmware and has a storage capacity of 120gb seen below. This further proves the authenticity of this great news in the Microsoft and consumer market. However, what features can be packed with this new set of Zunes?
